The Rencontres internationales de la photographie en Gaspésie, an international photography festival, will take place throughout the region from mid-July to the end of September. Discover contemporary photography through a series of exhibits and installations in several municipalities and national parks.

PHOS is a festival dedicated to photographic images and their various uses in the visual, digital and multidisciplinary arts. The event takes place over two weeks, from September 1 to 16, in Matane and includes exhibits, performances, artist talks and workshops in both indoor and outdoor venues. Every year, the event features the works of about 30 artists and communications professionals from the region and beyond.


Artistes en Fête Champêtre

Artistes en Fête Champêtre is a painting festival that brings together about 50 painters and sculptors in Sainte-Flavie (end of July). Watch them work during live demonstrations in colourful huts! You can also vote for your favourite artist and be entered into a draw for an original painting! This event is canceled for 2020.

The Symposium du Week-End des Arts de Port-Daniel-Gascons is an art weekend and symposium that takes place mid-September and brings together professional and emerging artists. For the occasion, the Port-Daniel church turns into a giant art gallery. Watch artists at work and learn more about their process. And who knows, you might be inspired to take a painting home with you…

The Festival de Sculptures d’Art Populaire de Saint-Ulric takes place in July, and features folk artists from across Québec. Discover unusual works of art made with materials of all kinds. The event also includes a weathervane and pinwheel contest open to all self-taught artists. This event is canceled for 2020.

The Fête du Bois Flotté, which takes place in Sainte-Anne-des-Monts in August, is a fun driftwood festival. In addition to meeting the sculptors, you can also take part in workshops and enjoy entertainment and activities of all kinds: street performances, inflatable games for children, a craft fair, tastings of local products, live music shows in the evenings and more. This event is canceled for 2020.

From June to October, directly on the Reford Gardens in Grand-Métis, the International Garden Festival presents contemporary gardens, often interactive, designed by artisans from all over the world.
