Top 5 – Microbreweries in Gaspésie
What could be more refreshing that a good beer after a day of outdoor fun in Gaspésie? Here are 5 microbreweries you can visit for a delicious hoppy treat during your vacation!

La Fabrique, Matane
The La Fabrique craft brewery offers a blackboard menu of 12 to 18 beers, including many regulars as well as several seasonal or experimental brews. It also offers a few carefully selected beers from other Québec microbreweries on tap. Be sure to taste La République, a light and refreshing blonde ale that is made on site and is perfect on a hot summer day.

Microbrasserie Le Malbord, Sainte-Anne-des-Monts
It was La Collin, an Irish red ale, that first brought attention to the Microbrasserie Le Malbord. Inspired by Leon Collin, a fisherman originally from Tourelle who was also a storyteller in his spare time, this beer will introduce you to the unique character of Haute-Gaspésie. Le Malbord also makes several other tasty craft beers inspired by the riches of the land and offers a few options from invited microbreweries that change every few weeks. Located in a former general store, Le Malbord gives new life to this heritage building.

Cap Gaspé Craft Brewing Co., Gaspé
The Cap Gaspé Craft Brewing Company is a family business that makes German- and American-style beers as well as seasonal and experimental beers using local ingredients. Among others, it produces Haldimand Beach, a strong New England IPA with a 5.8% alcohol content. With a clear golden colour, tropical nose and name evoking a fine-sand beach in Gaspé, this is a perfect beer to drink cold on a hot summer day!

Microbrasserie Pit Caribou, Percé
Brewed near the picturesque fishing harbour of L’Anse-à-Beaufils, Pit Caribou beers are made with quality regional ingredients. There are many to choose from, including Lollipop, which was crowned best beer at the Chambly beer festival in 2015. Consider yourself very lucky if you manage to get your hands on this delicious pinkish sour beer with aromas of lemon, strawberry and raspberry. Otherwise, satisfy your thirst with a pint of Blanche de Pratto, which has hints of coriander and citrus.

Microbrasserie Le Naufrageur, Carleton-sur-Mer
Making a point of using the best and most local ingredients possible, Le Naufrageur offers about 20 unique, creative beers. Available all summer, the À La Bourdages beer is a perfect drink to savour on a terrace on a hot day! This strawberry amber is made from a light must fermented with yeast and strawberry pulp used in the making of Alexis, a strawberry wine from Ferme Bourdages Tradition in Saint-Siméon.
These five microbreweries are also part of the Route des Bières de l’Est-du-Québec, a beer trail with 15 microbreweries to visit in Bas-Saint-Laurent, Gaspésie and the Îles de la Madeleine. Together they offer over 100 products with unique flavours. Along the way, meet the brewers to find out more about their trade and methods. You will then appreciate the fruits of their labour even more!
Be sure to also visit the new Le Ketch microbrewery in Sainte-Flavie. While they are not yet making their own beer, they offer a fine selection of beers from Gaspésie and the rest of Québec.
