Gaspésie: The best of snowshoeing and skiing!

Snowshoe and cross-country ski enthusiasts ˗̶̶ get ready! Winter is far from over in Gaspésie! Even the month of March can be counted on as one of the best to enjoy. The amount of snow is incredible and the spring sun warms the tip of the nose. Here are some favorite places not to be missed!

Auberge de montagne des Chic-Chocs : Luxury accommodation in a 4-star inn located at the top of the mountains. What more could you ask for? A playground of 60 km2, powder snow guaranteed! Yes please!

Parc national de la Gaspésie : In the heart of the Chic-Chocs, the territory of the Parc national de la Gaspésie includes 25 peaks over 1000 m! A large playground that allows for a short getaway, or a multi-day snowshoe or cross-country ski hike with overnight stay in a shelter. Also on site, the Auberge Gîte du Mont-Albert, a magnificent 4-star inn with a delicious restaurant, the perfect complement to a day outdoors!

Village Grande Nature Chic-Chocs : Located between sea and mountains, 19 km south of Cap-Chat and 400 m above sea level, Village Grande Nature Chic-Chocs is an exceptional holiday resort. Outdoor lovers can enjoy beautiful landscapes for cross-country skiing, Nordic skiing and snowshoeing. Hosting in Canadian or Scandinavian inns and cottages and catering offered.

Forillon National Park:Forillon National Park is not officially open in the winter, but thanks to a team of volunteers coordinated by the Comité de l’entrepôt de L’Anse-au-Griffon, cross-country ski trails are maintained there. The trail La Vallée is 9.2 km and the Portage Trail is 20 km. You can also fatbike (rentals available) and of course snowshoe. Who needs marked trails? Powder snow, it’s perfect! Percé UNESCO Global GeoparkWith the opening of the Geopark last year, all trails in the backcountry of Percé have been revamped. Whether you choose the summit of Mont Sainte-Anne and its breathtaking view of the Percé Rock, the fault, or the cave, the trails in the forest promise a great walk. Base de plein air de Bellefeuille : Sliding, skating and snowshoeing are on the agenda at the outdoor recreational centre. You can rent a charming cottage on the lake which, in winter, is used as an ice rink for the enjoyment of young and old. Perfect for family holidays!

Station touristique Pin Rouge A downhill ski resort, Pin Rouge also offers 21 km of cross-country ski trails of all levels as well as several snowshoe trails on the banks of the Petite-Cascapédia River. In addition, access is free for these 2 activities at all times! Also discover an ice rink and fatbike trails. On-site, pretty chalets at the foot of the slopes offer a stay at the resort to enjoy the multitude of activities.

Parc régional de Val-d’Irène : A traditional ski resort, Val d’Irène offers snowshoeing and cross-country skiing, including classic and skate skiing.
