Le Grand Tour
A mythical circuit, the Grand Tour of Gaspésie via snowmobile is 1,160 km of pure happiness! By following Trans-Québec 5, it takes 5 to 7 days to complete it. See the Chic-Chocs Mountains, snow-covered trees, spectacular views of the sea and, of course, the Percé Rock. A must to experience at least once!
The Chic-Chocs loop, with Forillon option
This circuit of 420 km is done in 1 to 2 days. The gold star element: the Chic-Chocs Mountains and powder snow in abundance! You will also see Mont Nicol-Albert, moose, Murdochville, and the coastal landscapes of northern Gaspésie. The loop includes the 595 from Saint-Paulin to La Cache, then trail 9 to Murdochville, the 597 northward, the Trans-Québec 5 to Mont-Saint-Pierre and back to Saint-Paulin. You can lengthen the circuit by adding a loop on the East side that includes the Forillon sector. Next, take the trails connecting Murdochville, Gaspé, Rivière-au-Renard, Grande-Vallée and Mont-Saint-Pierre for a total of 800 km which is done in 2 to 3 days.
The doors of Gaspésie loop
This 190 km loop is perfect for a day trip. It connects Mont-Joli, Saint-Damasse and Sayabec via the Trans-Québec 5, then the 591 towards Saint-Irène, the 587 N, the 579 via Les Hauteurs and Saint-Gabriel-de-Rimouski before returning to Mont-Joli via the Trans-Québec 5.
The Plateaux loop
Another beautiful circuit for a day trip, the Plateaux loop covers 205 km. It includes the Trans-Québec 5 from Causapscal southward, the 587 S via Saint-André-de-Restigouche, Matapédia, Saint-Alexis-de-Matapédia, Saint-François d’Assise and Albertville before returning to Causapscal. The landscapes of this area are picturesque, with different views of rivers and villages.
Gaspésie small tour loop
A nice alternative to experience the Gaspésie by snowmobile when there isn’t enough time to finish the big tour, or if the big tour has already been done, is the small tour of Gaspésie covering 950 km and made in 3 to 4 days. It includes the Trans-Québec 5 from Saint-Paulin to New Richmond (via Mont-Saint-Pierre, Grande-Vallée, Rivière-au-Renard, Gaspé, Percé and Chandler) before branching off to the heart of the Gaspésie via the 595. The Percé Rock, spectacular views of the sea, as well as the crossing of the Chic-Chocs Mountains and powder snow are the highlights of this circuit.
The Gaspésie offers a multitude of loops and circuits. Whether you have 1 day or 1 week at your disposal, snow, quality trails, and breathtaking scenery await you!
