Wilderness skiing
Gaspésie is THE destination for wilderness skiing in Eastern North America. Recognized for its huge amount of powder snow, Gaspésie also offers vertical drops up to 550 m and slopes of up to 45 degrees. Be tempted by the corridors of virgin snow! With more than 10 ski areas, the experiences range from climbs with skins and winter camping, to a stay in a 4-star inn with guided excursions.

If you want to outdo yourself and enjoy a few kilometers cross-country skiing or snowshoeing, know that in Gaspésie it is possible to leave for a trip of one night or more in a shelter. With a backpack, go on an adventure and access a shelter for the night, in the heart of the forest. Tranquility and immaculate snow guaranteed! This experience is offered by the Parc national de la Gaspésie.

Need a change of scenery? The Auberge de montagne des Chic-Chocs offers you a getaway for a few days! Located at the top of the mountains in the Réserve faunique des Chic-Chocs, this 4‑star inn offers you all the comfort you wished for, not to mention its famous gastronomy. With an exclusive territory of 60 km2 and experienced guides, you will be able to fully enjoy the Gaspesian winter.

Ice climbing
Although there are currently no companies offering climbing activities, it should be noted that the Gaspésie offers very beautiful climbing walls in winter. Climbing enthusiasts can still therefore enjoy and have fun. The preferred sites: La Gueule de requin at Mont-Saint-Pierre, and Les Cavaliers du vent at L’Anse-Pleureuse. These two sites are developed by the local climbing club Les Grimpeurs de l’Est and are affiliated with the FQME (Fédération québécoise de la montagne et de l’escalade).
