The artistic events of the summer

Photos, sculptures, paintings, cinema … art is at the heart of Gaspésie! Here are some events not to be missed during your next trip.

Jardins sur la Baie, June to September
On the enchanting site of the Parc de la Pointe Taylor in New Richmond, horticultural and sustainable elements intertwine to create contemporary works gathered on one site.

International Garden Festival, June to October
Directly on the site of the Reford Gardens in Grand-Métis, this festival presents contemporary gardens, often interactive, designed by artisans from around the world.

Rencontres internationales de la photographie en Gaspésie, July to September
From mid-July to early October, discover the works of nearly thirty photographers exhibited in 17 municipalities across the Gaspésie, outdoors or indoors.

Artistes en fête champêtre, in July
This symposium of painting brings together close to forty artists and makes the whole village of Sainte-Flavie vibrate for a weekend.

In Sainte-Anne-des-Monts, by the sea, see the sculptors at work while they work with driftwood. Awesome sculptures to discover!

Festival de sculptures d’art populaire de Saint-Ulric, end of July
More than 400 works by 16 sculptors from Québec are exhibited in Saint-Ulric for this festival. Although not yet very well known, folk art has many followers throughout the province. Do not miss the weathervane and paper windmill contest as well as the auction.

Les Percéides, Festival international de cinéma et d’art de Percé, mid-August
This independent film festival presents films and feature films from the previous year in addition to some multimedia installations in Percé.

Phos, early September
Festival in Matane dedicated to the various uses of the photographic and digital image, Phos presents the works of artists from here and elsewhere.
